Join a park ranger on a hike in the park to help promote kids coming to the parks! We will be hiking around  1 1/2 mile loop looking at the native plants and animals. Dress for the weather, wear closed toed shoes, and bring water! 

Come out to Lake Norman State Park to be amazed by the night sky. This event is part of the NCScience Festival. We will be down in the swim beach parking lot with the Piedmont Amateur Astronomers and Friends of Lake Norman to look at the stars!  Piedmont Amateur Astronomers are coming out to the swim beach parking lot to show us the stars through their telescopes! Friends of Lake Norman State Park will be there and astronomy-based crafts will be available. In the event of rain, this event will be held on Saturday, April 5. Join us as we celebrate one of our most precious resources, water, on Earth Day 2025! Participants will engage in interactive water-related activities and learn the importance of water quality protection. From looking at macroinvertebrates to watching a 3-D watershed model demonstration, participants will learn how humans can play a positive role in the watershed.
