Due to the response and success of the initiative in 2022, we are growing the funding and volunteer capacity to make Livingston Loves Trees an annual planting program. Our goal is to plant 1,000 trees in Livingston over 10 years and transform an aging, homogenous tree-scape into a robust and diverse urban forest, providing shade, habitat for wildlife, a defense against invasive pests and climate change, and more.

Data from this project complements the MaMA Monitoring Plots Network data in helping to identify where and when to search for lingering ash (trees that likely have some EAB resistance) for use in resistance breeding.

To collect information on ash stand locations to support seed collection and other ash conservation efforts in response to widespread ash mortality caused by emerald ash borer.

Create a regional pollen alert system for “cedar fever”
