The Avian and Wildlife Protection Program at APS will be holding a fishing line clean-up at Lake Pleasant. Please join us as we make the shoreline a safer place for all wildlife. Volunteers will be working in the elements and walking on uneven and rocky surfaces- a volunteer must be able to walk on these surfaces and tolerate working outdoors. Directions: From central Phoenix, take I-17 north to Carefree Highway (SR 74). Exit Carefree Hwy. and travel west 15 miles to Castle Hot Spring Road (Milepost 19). Turn north on Castle Hot Springs Rd. to Lake Pleasant Regional Park main entrance. You will observe 3 entry booths. If an attendant or host is in the booth, let them know you are a volunteer. They will direct you to the Group Campground for staging. Volunteers needed: 30 What should the volunteers bring? – Gloves, plenty of water, sunscreen, hat, PPE such as masks and safety glasses if concerned about allergies, sunglasses, salty snacks, sports drinks, weather-appropriate clothing, and close-toed tennis shoes or boots. Park staff will provide trash bags and litter pickers.
