Meet at the Native Seed Garden (Near Maintenance Compound). It is time to harvest seeds! Join us for a celebration of native seeds!! As we strive to improve native biodiversity within the parks. Registering is required via sign-up.com. Events start at 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Participants will learn to identify native plants in their seed stage, and how to harvest and clean native seeds in a sustainable way within the desert ecosystems of Maricopa County’s regional parks. The initiative to harvest native seeds is a proactive step towards ecological restoration. These native seeds are selected for their resilience and ability to thrive in the local environment. Wear long-sleeved shirt, pants, and closed-toed shoes. Participants must be 13 years or older to participate in these events, if you are 13-16, you will need parental supervision.
