More Information

Join Ranger Kevin for an early morning of fun and adventure as we set off in search of desert wildlife. Come greet the new week with a 3.1-mile hike on the Spur Cross and Dragonfly Loop trails. We’ll be on the lookout for all kinds of critters who are rising and shining along with us. Possibilities include deer, javelina, coyotes, bobcats, birds and more! The trail is rated moderate with some rocky, uneven surfaces and some elevation change. There is no drinking water available within Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, so please bring plenty of water and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. NO pets, please. MEETING LOCATION: Spur Cross Trailhead, which can be found past the entry station, near the portable restrooms and picnic tables. Please note: Entry to Spur Cross Conservation Area is $3 per person. Cash only is accepted. If entry station is closed, please place your money in the payment box at the gate. Limit 12 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 12/27.
