More Information
Are you new to Arizona or a longtime resident looking to learn about the unique environment you pass by every day? Ranger Nikki will lead this “walk n’ talk” to observe birds, insects, mammals, trees, cacti, rocks and more and share the story of their important place in our desert ecosystem. The route uses Overton Trail from the Nature Center and heads east to make a balloon loop on Go John, Jasper and Slate Trails, for 1.5 miles total. The terrain is mostly uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot but does have some areas that are level. There is little elevation gain. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.
