More Information
Enjoy some time in nature as you get your heartrate up and flex those leg muscles. You can also take in amazing views that stretch from nearby hills all the way to Camelback Mountain in Phoenix. This is a moderately paced hike, but we will stop for snack/water breaks and talk about any plant or animal topics of interest that come up. The route uses Go John, Quartz and Slate Trails to make a 3.5-mile loop. The terrain is mostly uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. There is approximately 300 feet of elevation gain at the start of the hike. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring snacks and plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center and the trailhead.
