More Information

Join Ranger Kevin for an informative Earth Day hike about the native plants and animals that call the Sonoran Desert home. Today is Earth Day, and we’re celebrating the best way we know how: by enjoying our spectacular Sonoran Desert! Come along and learn more about the amazing plants and animals that call the Sonoran Desert home. Plus, we’ll talk about some of the things you can do to put your love for the planet into practice. We’ll hike about two miles in total, and trails are rated easy-moderate, with some loose rock, uneven terrain, and elevation change. Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and bring plenty of water. Hats and sunscreen are also highly recommended. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. NO pets, please. MEETING LOCATION: Cottonwood Trailhead (Cottonwood Day Use Area) Limit 20 participants. To register, please email Ranger Kevin at Kevin.Thorson@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 4/20/25.
