Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Hike

Watch as the desert changes with the setting of the sun as the nocturnal species wake up as you walk through the park on the hunt for scorpions. Join Ranger Derik on a 2.5 mile loop as the sun goes down and learn about the wildlife that calls the Sonoran Desert home. Once the stars come out the blacklights turn on as we hunt for the 3 species of scorpion found at Cave Creek. The trails are rated as moderate and can be rocky and steep in some places. Please make sure to have a flashlight and extra batteries along with some water. Bathrooms and water founds are available at the nature center. MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center Limit 20 participants.
