This difficult hike explores the rugged and scenic views of the Preserve.
We will go up Tom’s Thumb to East End and return via the McDowell Regional Park. Over 1,500 ft elevation change. Experienced hikers suggested.
Location: Tom’s Thumb Trailhead – 23015 North 128th Street, Scottsdale, AZ, 85255
Skill level: Difficult
Distance: ~9.3 miles
Time: ~5 hours
Bathrooms are available at the trailheads. Bring water and snacks for the trail. No dogs please. Accommodations for service animals must be made in advance. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the hike.
