Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Creatures of the Desert

Stop by the open house to see snakes, spiders and other animals that call the Sonoran Desert home! Ranger Derik will be available to answer questions and introduce the animals. There will be a giant desert hairy scorpion, a mountain king snake, an ironclad beetle, tarantula, tailless whip scorpion, and other species on display. There will also be animal pelts from around Maricopa County. A ranger will be available to help identify animals you have seen around the Phoenix Valley as well as give you advice on where to find different species throughout the Maricopa County Parks system.
