Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Lunch and Learn – Venomous Creatures

Join Ranger Kevin for a lunchtime look at some of the Sonoran Desert’s most venomous creatures. Did you know that Arizona is home to 14 species of venomous snake? Or that it is home to the only venomous lizard in the U.S.? Bring a lunch and eat while we discuss a variety of snakes, lizards, spiders, scorpions and more. We’ll also look at the difference between venom and poison, what to do when you encounter a venomous animal, and what to do if you should ever be envenomated.
