The hike is rated as moderate and will cover sections of the goldmine and little leaf trails gaining roughly 500 ft and covering 3 miles. The trail is rocky and steep in several sections so hiking boots and hiking poles are strongly encouraged. All hikers should have at least 1 liter of water and a working headlamp or flashlight. Please make sure your lights have a full charge or that you pack extra batteries. Water and bathrooms can be found at the nature center. For those of you participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge, this is a great way to work towards your goal! The challenge runs from Nov.1-Feb. 8.
