“Too many times we’re trying to do science in a concrete room. Science is outside. Kids want to get their hands dirty and feel silt versus clay. Now we have the lesson plans. All we need to do is find the dirt.”

Join fellow Ohio science teachers* at Highbanks Metro Park for a day of digging into hands-on soil and water quality lessons for your students.
Participating teachers will:
know methods of determining the quality local soils and freshwater sources
understand the agriculture industry’s impact on soil and water quality
be able to conduct lab investigations with students.
Spend the morning digging deep into soil testing that you can do with your students before eating lunch with agriculture industry experts. Then, conduct water sampling and testing, and bring home $250 worth of classroom supplies for your students.
This event and its included resources (.7 CEUs, supplies, lesson plans) are offered at no cost to science teachers thanks to The Ohio Soybean Council and Ohio Corn and Wheat. “It’s totally worth it for the amount of materials we’re going to get. The ability to bring real world science back to our students is invaluable.”
